FAQs

What is Connect Maidenhead?

Connect Maidenhead is a unique business meeting and referral group that provides members with a relaxed but structured environment in which to meet and develop business relationships with other professionals.

How is Connect Maidenhead different?

We help you grow your business. Our meetings are made up of more than just 60 second business introductions - we have a pro-active programme designed to get you known to your fellow members, gain introductions to other businesses, and we enable you to share and profit from the group's collective success.

What are the advantages of joining Connect Maidenhead?

You will benefit from introductions to professional business people in and around Maidenhead, day-to-day support from like-minded professionals and direct introductions to new business as well as extended networking opportunities through other networking organisations known to Connect Maidenhead.

Being active in Connect Maidenhead is like having additional sales people working for you, because your fellow members will be referring your business to people they meet, without you having to pay them any salaries or commission. Successful businesses depend on 'word-of-mouth' marketing as the best form of promotion there is.

Why does Connect Maidenhead work for its members?

Connect Maidenhead provides a structured, supportive, business environment in which local business people can get together to network, learn valuable new marketing skills and develop the strong personal relationships that lead to trust and the consequent generation of significant business for each other.

Networking requires commitment. Connect Maidenhead is comprised of participants who are sincerely committed to helping one another through networking. They are a team. Connect Maidenhead provides a positive environment for men and women to develop their business through word of mouth recommendations and networking skills.

How can I become a Connect Maidenhead member?

Alternatively, visit one of our meetings.

When you apply to join Connect Maidenhead, your application will be reviewed by the group's membership committee. Any business person is welcome to attend a meeting as a visitor.

Where do you meet?

At The Thames Riviera Hotel, beside the Thames bridge in Maidenhead.

When do you meet?

Every Monday morning, except bank holidays. We assemble at 7.15am and the formal part of the meeting is completed by 9am, allowing members to get off to work.

Can I join?

Connect Maidenhead has an exclusivity policy restricting one person per discipline to join. If your discipline is not currently represented among the members, you will be welcome to join us.

Will I get business?

Just like advertising, networking is a route to market that requires consistency and is unlikely to deliver immediate results. But if you work with the group - rather than simply trying to sell to them - then valuable referrals will come. And you may be able to build valuable business alliances with other members of the group.

What if I can't make a meeting?

We ask members to commit to regular attendance. If you know you won't be able to make a meeting, we encourage you to send a substitute - a workmate, friend or business associate - in your place.

How will I know if it will work for me?

Try it - and make a commitment for a period, and measure the results. You'll find you get plenty of free help and advice from Connect Maidenhead members, to ensure you get the most out of business networking.
